2017 Giulia Ti, believe it has the sport pack. Not sure on the other options, it’s red over red and has done right around 25k miles. Asked him how many times it had broken, apparently the backup camera is broken. Told him to keep me updated through his ownership. Apparently there’s still two years left on the warranty, so that’s good news.

One of my co-workers has a Stelvio in a really pretty blue color. I haven’t asked him how reliability has been.

They have great looking cars, but I’d be worried about reliability and the lack of a manual is really what turns me off. Well that and the fact that both my cars are paid for. I’d really like one, but it just doesn’t make sense.

Did the owner park in that spot or is that where the tow truck dropped it off?

I love the looks of the Stelvio.  Used ones are in the right price range even, but I wouldn’t get one out of warranty.

Car probably has had structural damage too. That seems to be a specialty at the dealer that it came from.

Alfa, if anything, should have brought the reliability game FIRST before working on anything else. It’s what drove them out of the country in the last place. 164 may have been awesome, but the damage was done. Would they please bring something to the game that is good right at the beginning?

Having worked with FCA on launching one of the parts for the 2.0T engine, the poor reliability came as no surprise. The timeline was all over the place and in the end, was accelerated which put a strain on us and I’m sure all the other suppliers. I haven’t followed the reliability of second model years, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was significantly better once all the suppliers got to a stable point.

If you haven’t driven one yet, I’d suggest it. I like the way it drives way more than the F30 328 xi my parents own .

It seemed most of the problems weren’t with the drive train, just everything else.

I have driven one, not sure if I liked it more than the most recent F30 I’ve driven. I didn’t drive them back to back, so I’m sure that would make a difference.

The dealership near me is selling leftover 2018  Quadrifoglios for $28k off sticker. $58,955. That got me thinking, I can’t believe these were normally $86k.

After driving it for one day, my power steering started failing intermittently , apparently they overtightened one (or more!) Of my lower control arm bolt(s) and my wheel started separating from the body of the car when it sheared ... eventually the second bolt failed and my wheel literally fell off the car as I was making a u turn. Luckily it wasn’t on the highway. They took 6 weeks to fix it. No rental. No lease compensation. Recently I parked over a curb, with the wheel up against it. As I backed up the curb tore off the entire bumper. The little plastic tabs sheared off and now I need a new bumper. 1300$. The bumper is the sport one, it’s 700$ for it. For some reason this expensive bumper also doesn’t have the front parking sensor option . The wheels have rims that stick out farther than the rubber lip. Easily curbable with usually severe damage. Luckily I bought the rim insurance option. Google play crashes every time I skip 6 songs on my Amazon player. Google navigation and my gauge cluster navigation often give me opposite turn directions. The stability control is so aggressive that you cannot launch this car. Period. Retarded. And there is a 2 second hesitation sometimes when I want to make a turn. It’s awesome especially when I need to turn left with incoming traffic. So yeah. Won’t be keeping this car. It handles nice but overall I don’t recommend it.

I have documented everything I said with pics. So I can prove it all.

Asking an Alfa Romeo owner if their car broke down yet or how many times it has broke down is akin to asking the pregnant town slut.               “who is the father?”

(You know there is more than one)

35K on an ‘18 Stelvio, no problems.

So far, 8k on a 19' Giulia similar to your co-worker’s, no problems.

As of this afternoon, 3.5k on a ‘17 4C coupe, no problems.

Either I’m the luckiest person alive, or AR reliability isn’t as bad as Jalopnik slanders it to be.

(I still have not won the lottery, so I don’t think I am exceedingly lucky)

Bought at Hanna Imports, eh? I’d love to see the questionable history of the car. Hanna Imports ain’t exactly Raleigh’s best of the best dealerships. Not bad but not great. 10 bucks on the barrelhead it was bought at auction.

I switched to 2018 Ti Sport after 1 8 years of BMW sport models with manual trans and would not go back. Alfa drives sooo much sportier that even e46. Instant reflexes,  Feels like a go cart, yet suspension doesn’t beat you up. And the huge aluminum paddle shifters work like dual clutch. I had it for a year and had no problems so far

The reliability of the 21st century FWD Alfas is fine. Not Toyota great, but not VW bad either. Perfectly adequate. The problems came with the RWD/AWD cars, especially the QV versions.

I have had my 2018 Giulia Q4 with TI Sport PKG since last week of April. The local FCA dealer had 12 of them for sale then of various off lease Giulias and Stelvios. We were there to get my wife’s RAM (Fiat) Promaster City van repaired yet again for warranty and recall issues.  S o she learned to drive in Peru where she is f rom by driving the two Alfa Romeo convertibles her Dad owned - he passed away recently and so emotionally she was prepared for the Alfa Romeo when she saw it. So we test drove three of them. All drove really well, I had an Audi A6 Quattro for 18 years that I just sold the month prior. Therefore I convinced my wife to pick the one pearl colored Giulia Q4 they had because even though it was off lease it only had 85 miles on it of which we put 6 on it test driving. Having heard of reliability reputation of the Alfa Romeo we financed the car with the extended warranty and road hazard insurance. Hopefully that money is wasted as it is so far the Giulia has been totally perfectly reliable. And way more fun to drive than my before mentioned Audi A6 Quattro, the Jettas my sister had, and the Jettas the Audi VW dealer gave me as loaners while my Audi was in the shop, and I spent the day at Porsche driving experience and tried to enjoy the two Porsche models they had me test, I did not, nor did I enjoy driving the e-pace from Jaguar: but I tell you no other car drives like the Giulia. I am seriously considering changing jobs so I will have a longer commute. There are some annoying issue about the car design, noted by others on YouTube and by Jeremy Clarkson.....I am very pleased with my Giulia 5 months in.
